Well I had to go to work a few times, then some talking with EI, a round of golf, moved my daughter to my house for a bit. Actually been fairly busy the last week and a half or so.

I take it you're still working hard as usual.

Still working, but not as hard as I was. Houston Town Council decided not to go ahead with a job that was going to be atleast a months work for me, so now I am just making my 40 hours a week.

Hopefully something else pops up to keep me busy.

Is the mill where you work shutting down for an extended period?

Nothing in the works or at least no more downtime planned. A lot of it depends on prices and where the Canadian dollar is.

In 2011 the mine is re-opening so this town is going to be full.

Yeah, that shoul be good news. There is a small mine that is hoping to start up just outside of smithers in the next year or two, but not many jobs will come from there. Especially since they have an employment agreament with the lake babine nation.

Another company tried to start up a mine right outside of town, but the local greenies chased them away.

I think they were trying to put a damper on this as well. Money talks I guess. They are saying the lifetime of the mine is 17 yrs and everything they mine is already spoken for. I think they are doing some construction early next yr. That means no available rentals and probably realestate prices will take a jump as well.

Same here Chris, it's been pouring since six this morning. Not a big deal since I'm inside all day. They say the weekend will be nice, so that works for me!

Supposed to be mostly rain and cloudy here for the weekend. I'm working so not a big deal, plus the moisture is nice.

Yeah, rub it in!

Everything over 40 gets banked for extra vacation time that I really don't want

I will be getting plenty of hours the next couple of months. We are shutting down in November for our 18 month refueling, and I'm going to try to work either 7-10's, or 7-12's for that month. Plus, I'll be getting some overtime before then to get things ready for the outage. Just in time to pay for Christmas!

I did that when I was in Alberta. I would take some of my extra time as overtime. Some I would just take time off. Normally in the summer I would take every Friday afternoon off and hit the golf course.
