Yeah, it'll start getting cold here at the end of October. I'll have it tucked away until mid April or so.

Gee, Pat, you can weld when it's cold...and the SNOW conducts the electricity better

It would be nice to have a heated shop

I am old school Navy. Yes, we used "Magic Wadding Compound" Never-Dull on brass and we used Naval Jelly (phosphoric acid)on rusty metal. I use vinegar and some patience. I have had some amazing results with plain old vinegar. It is safe to actually ingest and I actually give it to the chickens in their water every two or three months. It kills mold and mildew and I have heard it helps with weight loss...so bottoms up!!!!

Getting the truck ready to store, got a few things done this weekend. New tail gate has been installed. Took some doing, though. The Dennis Carpenter repop tail gate has a few issues. Holes where the latches are on each end are not in the perfect spot, so, had to enlarge the hole on the striker plate on each side, to get it to lock. Also, had to increase the size of the bolt holes, on the left side hinge, so I could get the tailgate to line up with the body, it was sticking out. Have to do a little more work with that.

Have the steering almost ready. Found a steering wheel out of a Buick in the salvage yard, that will bolt right up without an adapter, so that I can at least steer it for now. Column is connected to the steering box. Have to do a bit of trimming on the inner fender, to get the steering shaft to clear, that's the black line I've marked on there.

Come on down amigo. At this moment, we are still in Texas, and I have one more VA medical appointment yet to be scheduled. My proctologist is a funny guy, and said that for him, its "Backsides Matter". I am not looking forward to riding the "Silver Stallion", but it has to be done every 5 or 6 years... I expect that we should be home in Baja some time in early Nov... Let me know, and we will make plans...

About in the middle of the state, near the NC border. W of Martinsville. In the foothills. Mountains not too far away , so Pat can go visit the SNOW he loves do much
Last year, I think we might have gotten 1/2" of the white stuff.
