Hood work today. Wish I could have gotten this dipped like the other hood. Stripping it is a lot of work!

And done. Now give it a spritz of zinc phosphate to keep it from corroding, want to primer it in the next day or so, depending on the weather

None, you can spray right on to it. I still wipe it down with wax and grease remover, and a tack cloth, though. the stuff I use is called Phix.

So, after seeing this new hood cleaned off, I may be changing plans. I think I'm going to use the new hood for it's sheet metal replacement, to fix this other hood. Along with the damaged crown at the front of the hood, this damn thing must have 50 hail dents in it!

A couple of quarts of bondo will fix the dents............
Have you tried shrinking the dents with heat? I never have but, heard it can be done.

If there weren't so damn many, I'd be okay with it. Two of the big ones are on the body lines of the hood, tough to fix. After mulling it over, I think I'm better off fixing the other hood with parts from the new one.
