Another piece of the puzzle

Another piece of the puzzle arrived today, a fresh T-19 transmission and adapter to transfer all those ponies from my new flathead. The adapter is for another transmission but it bolted up perfectly. The transmission is from Novak and the adapter, M.E.C.
The puzzle is to remove the drive train from my F-1 and replace it with a hopped-up french flathead, T-19 tranny, 9" rearend and convert to 12 volt system. I've started a spreadsheet to track all the system changes from electrical to cooling, etc.
Next week I'll should be getting the new harness from Ynz's Yesterdays parts. Gene their was very helpful in designing a harness that will look correct for 51" both in appearance and color, but will have the necessary connections for electric fan, fuel pump, etc.
Still a ton a parts to get. Picture of the tranny is in my gallery under Flathead Engine.
I am open to any suggestions. Thanks Marty

When I set my 400 and T19 into my first '48, I was able to align the trans bottom mount with the original crossmember, even though the F1 has a half-round. Getting around this I used an F2 crossmember. There are different tailhousings for the various T18/19's so I just got lucky with the one I used. (ok, I have a few, but this one worked) Anyway, others who have done tranny swaps have made their own crossmembers, or whatever works, but it's doable. May want to keep part of an original crossmember piece for the pedals and brake MC.

I was hoping to keep the original crossmember and I think I can if the T-19 isn't any longer then the tranny thats in the truck now. I'm looking for
outside dimensions of the crusher 4 speed so as to see if it will work.

Havi, how easy was it to hook up the speedo cable to the T-19?

The latest part of the puzzle arrived late this afternoon from YnZ Yesterdays parts. My first impression was that it was well package and labeled and with a stigmatic with each component. It only took them a month to make. My only disappointment was the liberal use of electrical tape on some parts of the harness??? Not sure was this the way they came from the factory?

The signal harness they made for me. Not self-canceling but I will have turn indicators working in the gauges. Sweet!

Are you sure that header will sneak past the steering box? It doesn't look like the design I usually see used on flatties in F-1's. You might want to check it out if you haven't already before you go to the expense of getting them coated. I sure hope so, because they sure are sexy!

Ya that picture makes things look closer then they are. The headers are not really bolt on or in the correct position, the engine stand prevents that. I hope they work and sound as good as they look.

Removed all of the old wire harness and started installing the new harness, so far its coming along pretty good, but with just about everything so far more work is involved. Like the headlight buckets or should I call them rust buckets. LOL. I'll have them repainted in the next couple days. By the end of tomorrow I should have the new harness in place.
