On the truck I went to pop the hood so I could check fluids. Pulled the release and didn't feel a good "pop".

Went to the hood, and it wwasn't released.

Whats the best way to get the latch open without monkeying things up?

Did you try pushing down on the hood some then pulling the in-cab lever? Or once you've pulled the lever, push down on the hood as you jiggle the hood release?

 

Yea I went back and forth a couple times. Tried pushing down on the hood, then tried the in cab lever. Tried jiggling the under hood release after multiple pulls on the in cab lever too.

She won't budge. Like the in-cab is not hooked up anymore or something to that effect....

 

Is there any tension on the in-cab lever when you pull it? Remove the kick panel and look over as much of the release cable as possible.

 

2 person job.

one person, pulls like crazy on the latch.

second person, pulls up on hood, then push down and repeat until it opens.

lubrication is your friend.
