Cool 1954 ford radiator and shroud promblem

Just took my new radiator original one) and put it on today. Everything line up great ant bolted it on but when I tried to put fan shroud (original one) on it would line up because fan blade was hitting the top of shroud and keeping it from lining up to bolt on shroud. The blade is the same one and shroud is also that I had when old radiator was on truck and no problems. Would appreciate any thoughts.

Do you have a 6 or 8 cylinder?
There should be a good amount of room.
I think they only go on one way. Do you have it upside down?
Could you show us some pictures of what is going on? That might really help.

If you have a V8, I can show you what mine looks like to compare.

Yes its the original 239 ohv engine. It hits the top of the fan blade and wont allow me to line it up to bolt the shroud on. If you could post pics I will try tomorrow to take some.

I have the 239 as well.
Here are some pictures of mine installed.

I have the front sheet metal on now. If you need, I can take more pictures and focus on the lower portion of the shroud as well.

I'm not a '53-'56 guy so I don't even know if it possible to do, but is there any chance you're trying to put it on upside down and have the fan opening offset the wrong way?

You mention new radiator and original in your opening sentence. I do not understand. Do you have the pad between the radiator support and the frame cross member? What about the engine mounts integrity, are they correct front and rear?

On my 55 I can mount the radiator at two different heights one low and one high. I mounted mine in the low to help get the fan more centered on the radiator. looks like Joe's is in the high. Maybe you are in the wrong radiator mount holes on the radiator, there is approx 1"- 1 1/2" difference in heights
