1992 F250, 7.3: No "wait to start" or GP indicator lite on inst. panel when key turned on. Don't even know where it would be on the dash because the Owners Manual shows every indicator lite location but that one! Read some troubleshooting tips on other threads and figured maybe burnt GPs (Only had the truck a few weeks). Changed them out with Beru's. Had Autolites in and they looked pretty black/burnt with alot of deposits. After change-out still no lite but the truck starts after one or two tries and runs OK. Checked the 'chasis to engine' connector and it doesn't look to have been over-heated. Should I pull this apart and look for corrision or attempt to clean the connectors? What's my best plan of attack for this? Thanks in advance for the help. This site is awesome.
Sounds like the glow plugs are working, just no light. When you switch the truck on from cold wait about ten seconds before you turn the key to "start".
Yours is a later truck but on mine the WTS light is just below the instrument cluster and to the right of the steering column. I would think you will have to check for a bad bulb first.
Check 20 amp fuses in the engine compartment and cab area #17.... Also check the purple and black wire from the GP controller is hooked up to the connector on the firewall. I think you will find the WTS light left of the engine warning indicator.... (93)
