AE Scantool Houston TX

Anyone close to Houston Texas have the AE scantool software? I am interested in purchasing it but would like to see it in action.

If someone has it and doesn't mind giving me a little schooling on it, I would appreciate it very much. Probably even puchase a frigid beverage of your choosing for your trouble.

is it just software or do you get a scaner. Is it like that PDA stuff + the software and cable to the PDA?

Its software and a cable to connect to your vehicle. You can run it on a PDA or on a laptop, your choice.

That's it? I wonder if I can get my blackberry to do it. Probably not. I can deal with it on my lap top. How much?

Where you at Roland??? Don't hide!

Just looking for someone to confirm if I can use one of these things or if I would be wasting my money.

Thanks

I have it it. I'm on the NW side of town, near 290 @ Telge, probably about an hour from Highlands. The software is super simple to use but if you'd like to check it out, we can work something out.

I'm about the same distance from there on the south side. Let me know, if something doesn't work out.

You guys rock. I got to see it in action at RRE with a couple different folks using it. It looked simple and easy to use, so much so I bought one myself. Have yet had time to play with it, but I will soon. I thought about the PDA way, but with the size of screen and the way PDA's are changing so fast, I went the laptop way. Clay at Riffraff has some good deals on the AE when you decide.

I have one I bought from Clay. We used it data logging on the way home. Valuable tool. Great price. It can pay for itself when changing tire size or the first time you have to go to a dealer to scan your vehicle. I have used it on several 7.3s and a couple of 6.0s and recently on a new 6.4.

Your just up the road from my cousins in Palacios. I know the area a little bit. Been awhile since I've been down that way though.
