I drive a 2001 F250 and last week I started my truck and was setting there lighting up a smoke and the truck just shot off. It started right back up and my first thought was my CPS was going out again. It did it again this morning, started back up and I drove to work. When I got back into my truck to go home it would not do anything when I trun the key. All the dash light came on and the wait to start light came on and went off but when I turn the key to start nothing. I tried it two more time and nothing. So I move the shifter throught the gears and back to park and the truck started. Now I'm not for sure it's my CPS. Anyone have any idea where I need to start looking?

 

Chaffed wire in the steering column. Pop steering column cover off, and find chaffed wire, wrap in elec tape, and you should be good to go.
