98 B4000 No blinkers/hazards
To all,
The blinkers and hazards don't work on my 98 B4000. I read in the owner's manual that the blinkers won't work when the hazards are on. Anyway, the owner's manual didn't list a fuse for either so I checked them all and all were ok.
I suspect the turn signal assembly (I think it is called a multi-function switch). Same sort of symptoms when the one in my wife's Mustang died a few years ago. Anyway, the wipers, flash to pass and high beams work just no blinkers or hazards. Any help or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Casey

The flasher is under the dashboard. They are resonably easy to get to and run about $38 from the dealer. Which is the only place you will find them.
I had mutiple problems with my turn signals on a 95 Explorer. Most common was a loud chattering sound and rapid flash when turning left only. The sound was localized to the flasher. Replaced the flasher without success.
My next choice was replacing the multifunction switch. Expensive and very difficult. Out of desperation, I tried spraying WD-40 into every possible opening of the multifunction switch. After about a minute, problems gone. Over 5 years now without trouble. Give it a try.
Good luck.
