I have recently found FTE, and hope this is where I will find what I'm looking for. Having just completed restoration of my: 1969 F100 shortbed, stepside 4-wheel drive pickup, I now need to get a set(5) of old-school Jackman truck rims to set the thing OFF! These rims originally were made in El Cajon, Ca. for dune buggys, baja bugs, and Trucks. They are no longer around, so I'm trying to locate a used set. ANYONE with 1, 2, whatever 'ya got will help! Thanks for looking,.......... Thomas
I have a used set of four. What size are you looking for? Mine are 15x8. As you already know these wheels are thick and heavy. Shipping cost would be a killer. Where are you located? I am at zip 87108. Make an offer but with shipping it may not be worth it to you. By the way, I also have a short bed f100 step side. There are a couple of pictures in my gallery. I have only seen one other one like it...ever! You should post pictures of yours.
Hello David. I'm happy to hear from You, both about the rims and that You have a F100 shortbed stepside. Is yours a '69 ? 4 wheel drive? My truck was originally sold to the Arizona Forestry Department as a park Ranger vehicle. Do You know what bolt pattern the rims have? I believe I need 5 x 5 1/2, and the 8" width is correct for this rig. As far as a price, what are they worth to You shipping aside? I will begin exploring that aspect if we can reach a deal.Your location is listed as Albuquerque,NM. Is that correct? I will look into your gallery to see your photos, and as soon as i'm FINALLY done, I'llpost a set showing "Froggy" Thanks alot, Thomas
Rims are 15x8 with 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern and no center caps. I could probably get pictures up by this weekend. I think that $30 each would be reasonable. They need to be sanded and painted to look new again but there are no dents. A powder coat would look sweet. If interested email me at dt1972lr@juno.com. I don't think the moderators like offers being made in the threads.
I just finished a full restoration of my 69 F100 4x4 long bed flareside. Everytime I try to edit my gallery to get the link it crashes the browser, but here is a thread that has some pictures: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/87...t-glimpse.html
I didn't want the Baja style rim as it is now very common (heck, it is used on travel trailers now), but the 5x5.5 patter doesn't provide a lot of choices. I wanted about a 17 inch rim and I also wanted good sidewall height, finally I found the Devino Crakken in a 17inch, and put 285 R70 passenger tires on it. Not an off road tire, but this baby is not going to see hard duty any more.
By the way, I bought a 410 that is going into her next month to replace the 360.
