Getting rid of minor scratches?

What is the best way to get rid of minor scratches? I have seen the Turtle wax that comes with the colored crayon/pens that "match" your paint color, do they work, does anybody have any experience with them? How about using Crayola brand wax crayons that match your paint color, in the scratch, and them waxing over it with a good car wax? Does this sound crazy, will the Crayola melt in the sun? Any comments or suggestions on this crazy subject are welcome!!!

Thanks, John

Getting rid of minor scratches?

My husband has a black pickup and he has used the wax crayon type cover. It works a bit. He used it then used a buffer/wax over it. It looks a bit better but nothing that is worth swearing by
wish it worked better

Getting rid of minor scratches?

I have used Meguiars Scratch X with some success. My wifes black clearcoat had some surface scratches, and I was able to rub most of them out with that, and then followed up with Meguiars Cleaner Wax. The Cleaner Wax is mildly abrasive, and does a good job of removing swirl marks in black paint.
Good luck!

Getting rid of minor scratches?

Thank you for your reply's. The problem is that the scratches are deep enough that they go through the clear coat and paint and it looks like a white scratch (truck has forest green paint). Will the Scratch X work to get rid of the white scratch?

Thank again.

You will have to use touchup paint to hide scratches that deep.
