Powder Coat vs. Spray Paint?

Powder Coat vs. Spray Paint?
I'm putting the stock steel wheels back on my truck, getting rid of those funky aftermarket 'mags' the previous owner put on... I've got some great dog dish hubcaps and chrome beauty rings to dress it up.
Question...
Is powder coating worth the expense, or just go with spray paint? I was told there is a spray paint specifically made for wheels, but I also have read that powder coating is virtually indestructible. Your thoughts and experiences are appreciated.

Powder coating is definately better...But...
I have never had a painted wheel go bad, and it looks pretty good too.
If it is a show truck with custom everything and $$ are not an issue, then powder coating is the way to go.
If you just got a cool truck, and want it to look good, then paint and go. Use a heat resistant paint as the wheels will get hot during heavy braking.
Good luck

Powder coating is more durable than paint and like paint you can get the wheels powder coated to match the wheels(if you like that sort of thing).
I would say other than cost the only drawback is, down the road, if you chip the coating is does not repair as easily as a painted surface. However if the surface is prepped properly prior to powder coating it should last a lifetime.

Poweder Coating is defintely the way to go. I had all my door handles powder coated and they look awesome and will never wear. Powder coating isn't really that much to get done I don't think. I had all my stuff done and was only about $35 which isn't too bad considering the durability. Paint would work, but I tink the powerder coating is worth it. Just my two cents.

Thanks... found a local guy, $50 a wheel, sandblasted and powdercoated... still mulling it over. Thanks again for the input.
