Get a digital camera, record the blinks, than play them on your computer until you make sense of them.

Been their done that... even posted the video on the forums and we still all got different codes... Code readers make life so much easier. I know its not required but if you plan on owning your truck for awhile.

I suggest getting a cheap digital reader and not one that just blinks at you. I have one and love it!

Ok I cast my vote too! A code reader beats the heck out of counting flashes.

I got one of them Innova 3145, couple times counting them flashes convinced me, one of the best 20 bucks I probably ever spent. (as far as these trucks go at least)

Back then I bought mine used with the book, but I see now days a new one is only a couple dollars more. Real handy little device to have for sure.
