Question Clutch problems

Ive got a 2000 F350, 2wd with 7.3l. for the past day my pedal has felt a little mushing at the top and this morning while driving to work, i pushed it in to change to 2nd and the pedal didnt come back up. i pulled it out of gear and turned in a parking lot. i was able to pull the pedal back up but has since done it twice more. finally, the clutch works about 1-2 inches off the floor now. i checked the fluid and it checked out ok. i now the clutch was starting to slip after my chip and bigger tires but hasnt given me the slightest bit of problems, even towing 9000lbs loads. ive never really delt with a clutch so im hoping someone can give me a little insite on what ive got going on!! thanks for your time!!

Give me a second and I'll get the part number for ya.

Edit: can't find the part no. but its the pre-bled master/slave assembly from Ford. When I did mine it was around $215 with tax

Thats odd. You should be able to get pieces individually or buy the complete kit. If you can wait a little while maybe give FTE parts guy Ed (They are a sponsor) a shout and he'll get you squared away.

I just sent Ed a message, hopefully he can help. its at the point where the pedal has zero tension ( except the spring ) sits on the floor and wont go in gear at all.

Here's a tip for ya.

The new slave cyl.will come w/ a plastic retaining strap to hold the push rod in.

Do not cut the strap until after you have installed the cyl.
Seems simple enough,but alot of folks will cut the strap,then it can be a PITA to install.

Another thing to check while you're there;
There is a plastic bushing on the m/c push rod where it attaches to the clutch pedal. Replace it.

I can't remember if it comes w/ the new m/c or not.
