Not gonna believe this but I`m outta woods for now.Checked vent, fine, went to bottom of tank and tapped w/rubber mallet. Then boom we have bowl emptying.Cool.I turn on water pump and flush,I`m watching fluid back up through hole in toilet again, dammit, go back underneath and a few taps later I can hear this whoosh of h2o peculate in tank.GREAT. I added 5 gal of h2o and 4 packs of enzymes.Hope to hell that does the trick. Can`t go dump till next weekend but rest assured I will post back

Thank you all for helping me through this

Forgot those won't work

GO home depot get those small auger.

We have this problems all times IT PITA when stuff CLOG behind valve.

How it happened. Someone use TP too much. When we unclog We see tons TPs that explain why we have kids come for camp.

When you got unclog then do again fill with straight water then open valve then wait until it stop. leave valve open then get 5 gallons of water POUR in toilet that should push stuff out plastic tank.

We been do for 11 years.

Here's another excellent forum :http://www.rv.net/ Black tank maintenance is discussed often. Many of us use the Geo method. (or a variation thereof) Go here: http://cbruni.googlepages.com/home All you need is Dollar Store dish soap, a bottle of Calgon Water softener (lasts about 5 years), and a home made (from PVC) or store bought rinsing wand. A few simple rules and your tank will stay clean, odor free, and free flowing at minimal cost and effort. Check it out.

Ever see a washing machine hose at your local hardware store?

Reminds me of one of Rush Limburghers book titles that I saw at a used book store last week:

"SEE? I TOLD YOU SO!"
(I didn't buy the book)

But yeah - all of the experienced people we have here can't be wrong! You don't have to go through the stuff in the movie by Robin Williams to get a pretty good answer here and a solution ( ) to a problem.

I'm glad it worked out so well, and I bet you don't let it happen again....

OK....time for a great follow-up on this subject. After following my own advise from way back in this thread, I found the GEO METHOD! https://sites.google.com/site/cbruni/

WOW - did the GEO method this spring... and are now on our first outing. Drove for about 4 hours with all tanks about 3/4 full. Didn't dump after arrival until I chickened out after two days here. Never had any odor and as a bonus found that two out of the 3 tanks had the sensors scrubbed and were working great.

I re-applied the water softener/soap treatment in all tanks and will follow their advise to NOT dump until full (or until I panic. It's rather an amazing (but natural) method!

So what do we do if we only take the RV out 2-3 times over the season? Well, what happens to homeowners do that have a septic tank? They just leave it. SO, leave it. Try to plan on the tanks being more than 1/2 full at the end of the season and empty them. By then, the water softener should have made the sides of the tank really slick so when you do dump them, everything comes out.
