I'm sorry for your loss man. My grandpa passed away last October. I only saw him about 5 times in my life, but that man had more in common with me than anybody else in my family could ever dream of sharing. He lived 1,000 miles away, and I never cared for anybody on that side of the family besides him, so that's the only reason we never really had a chance to be around each other. The last time I talked to him was in 2006, and I deeply regret not taking the chance to at least talk to him on the phone every once in awhile.

I'm sorry for the losses guys...

You guys were lucky...

I never got to meet my grandparents on my mom's side, and on my dads' side, I only got to meet my grandmother, who had severe Alzheimers....

So basically, I never got to meet her either...

Went on the first junkyard run of the summer today, picked up a set of dog dishes. They were pretty rough, but I didn't see any other ones at all there, plus they charged me $3 each for them. A little hammer and dolly work and some silver paint got them a bit more presentable. I just need to do the black accents.

Billet grilles yes, but I haven't seen these steel tube grilles anywhere but my local junkyard.

You can make a tube grill very easily and cheaply. We made one for my 63 ranchero and my old 81 flareside.

Use electrical EMT flatbar and pop rivets. Costs about 15 bucks or less. Cover EMT with chrome tape or paint.

Newrider, you are doing a great job with your truck. Keep at it.

As little desire as I had to spend most of a paycheck on new tires, a near blowout on one and a flat on another of my used tires was the last straw. I had the tires pulled last night, and got my wheels properly stripped, primed, and painted.
I went with Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy in the Almond color. I know that the steelies were really white from the factory, but all of them I have ever seen have become an off white-tan color over time, so that's the way I've always remembered them. Whenever I can get the big chunk of steel I got from the scrapyard cut for my bumper it's getting painted the same color, kind of a throwback to the white bumper I had originally.
Went with a 30x9.5 for the tires, they didn't have anything affordable that was particularly good in the usual 235/75, plus I like the higher pressure range of the LT tire and the narrower tread width.

Disregard the crappy toolbox, I needed something to haul all my crap for work and it was laying around. Will probably ditch it as soon as I head back to school, or I find a good metal one.

Depending on the year of the truck, the wheels were either white, or wimbledon white, which is actually a very light tan color. It looks white, until you get an actual white close to it. As far as I am aware, wimbledon white was the only white used on a ford truck from sometime in the 60's (or earlier) to the early 80's.
I suppose they called it wimbledon white after the famous clay tennis courts in England. You may step onto the court in a true white outfit, but it won't be very white for long.......

Finally got the gigantic steel chunk cut for the bumper. 1/2" thick. Go ahead, park your Kia up my rear at a stoplight on a hill, see if I care.
