From me in Dallas, TX to caleb90 in upstate NY, 4 stockers with tires. that would be great if anyone's headed that way, I'm taking a road trip, but going opposite direction (Oregon if anyone needs anything)

I sold some rims off a land rover discovery I had a few years back. From Raleigh, NC to somewhere in west Texas I believe. I found 4 perfectly sized boxes at Lowes and boxed/taped them up. Took them to USPS and it ran about 150 bucks. So definitely not cheap. Probably a cheaper route, but I sold mine on ebay and specified buyer pays actual shipping cost, so it wasn't a big concern to me.

edit. this was just rims, so I have no idea now much it'd be for wheels and tires, given the additional weight.

Keep the tires on the wheels and lower the air pressure to like 20lbs or so. Using carboard, cut out a round piece a little bigger than the diameter of the wheel lip. Using that to protect each side of the wheel, wrap the whole tire and wheel with packaging wrap (that stuff that looks like saran wrap) really well.

Now take a white piece of notebook paper, letter size, and write down the shipping info, sender, receiver, etc, and wrap it once to the previously wrapped tire so it's secure, but still can be read.

Do this for each tire and ship them individually.
