Just a comment on the Tail Pipe. It goes to show that many have no clue when it comes to vehicle development. The flange like end at the tip of the tail pipe is for hooking up a coupler that is used to vent the exhaust gas when the vehicle is in a dyno or emissions cell. It is common on all development vehicles.

I have to agree about the tail pipe but somebody forgot to tell GM because it looks like a bazooka. Looking over all the stuff under the 6.7 it will probably be a 2 sawzall blade job to remove it...

I love how they put all that "disguise" on the prototypes, but you can tell what they are by the styling. Oh, and by that big Ford sticker on the tank in the box.

It looks like they may be doing what Dodge is doing for their 2010 HD trucks, dually beds no longer have the added on fenders, its one giant stamping.

Anyone else notice that the engine has a shallow plastic oil pan? I wonder if its a dry sump system

I know I dont understand that. You can tell exactly what make every truck is when they are testing them. Yeah put that big Ford sticker on the fuel tank in the bed..Looks like this truck has been worked hard from the looks of things too. I dont know about that low hanging oil pan especially on a 4x4 truck. They better have some skid plat for it or something.

The reason the "pan" is so thin is because the block is a deep skirt design for added strength. Think LSx.

Half the lower block is actually the oil pan.
