ford lightning rear shock help

I have an 01 lightning, rear shocks are shot. When I hit some ripples in the road the bumper stops hit. Anyways I was wondering if I can use bilsteins from a newer 04 and on model on my 2001.Are they compatible?

Yes.

Bilsteins from the '01+ years are compatible with any year Gen 2 L.

I thought you asked about the Bilsteins from the '01 to '04 year Gen 2 Lightnings. THOSE Bilsteins will fit any year Gen 2 L, from '99 to '04.

I have no clue about the regular F150's from '04 and up.

Stewert,
no problem,my message was a little confusing. Anyways, I looked at both of the sets and they do not match. The 97-03 f150 has one eye and something else on the blue end,the newer F150(04-09) has 2 eyes, one on each end. They must have had a lot of complaints on how difficult the job to change them is on the 97-03 models and they improved it on the newer edition trucks.

It's been a number of years since I put Bilsteins on my '99, but I don't remember them being difficult at all.

Eh, grab a set and you'll see they aren't that bad.
