Stranded in Indy(Danville, il) what tools do I need? Rear brakes on dually?

I do auto transport and lost a rear brake pad lastnight on my 99 dually. It just whipped it out totally and fell right out! I have some tools, what will I need to change this? I'm I. Indy now heading towards Danville, if your in the area and wouldn't mind giving me a hand. I would greatly appreciate. Reply here with your number. Thanks a lot guys

If your rotor is shot, the hub has to come off.
It's bolted to the inside of the hub.
You'll need the hub socket to get the nut off inside.
My F-550 has a different socket than yours, so don't go by the picture, go by the application for your truck.
I posted mine for illustration purposes.
It's a common tool that NAPA has.
Other than that, a socket set, a big C-clamp to compress the pistons.

Dan,

Though I didn't see a wrench and hose, I'm to assume that you open the brake bleeder valve while compressing those pistons back into their bores, and NOT just force the brake fluid back into the lines.

Is there a problem with forcing the fluid back to the tank? Thats how I did mine. My tank overflowed, but that is all that happened.

Anybody know the size of the axle assembly and the size of the hub nut?

I always do it that way.

IIRC is it not a "ratchet style" nut that uses a special socket? (and torque spec.)

Can't slap a set of pads on to get you where you're going?

If you gotta pull the hub, don't forget the seal.

It is a big 4 prong socket looks similiar to the old frontend socket for 4 x 4. If you can just put pads on and wait until you get home or somewhere better to pull the rotor. You dont need to turn the rotor unless you want to.
