extreme tire wear

hey guys i have extreme wear on the outside, passenger side, front tire. This has just developed in the last month or 2. I checked the ball joints the best i know how (jacked up that tire and placed a 2x4 under and pryed up and down) and didnt notice any play.
i am running cooper discoverer stt 285/75/16, i have not noticed in 30,000 miles any unusual wear. I re-ended a vehicle a few months ago and have since replaced the wheel bearing on the drivers side, seals etc.. i have never had to mess with the passenger side and i have no idea if the ball joints have ever been replaced. i am the 2nd owner as far as i am aware and it now has 206,000 miles on it.
I also have a "clunking" noise when going over bigger bumps offroad when the truck flexes, and i feel bumping on my feet when driving. i have replaced the sway bar links roughly 40,000 ago.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Shy of taking it to a reputable front end shop, I'm no help. The clunk could be your swaybar bushings.

Sounds like after the front end collision they didnt align the front end correctly and that is what would cause the type of tire wear you are experiencing. The bumping under your feet is usually caused by the driveshaft splines being dry on grease. hopefully someone will be along with a link to the thread outlining the way to grease the splines. Many have drilled, tapped and installed a grease zerk in the are of the splines to keep from having to disassemble and regrease peroidically just give it a squirt of grease every lube job.

That kind of wear is generally attributed to "toe in" or "camber".

If you checked everything and it is tight,go to a front end shop and get some measurements.( a small bend in a steering part is not noticeable, but will show up w/ F.E. equipment)

You're gonna end up there anyway.

rotate your tires and get a front end alignment. I agree with Matt also about the bushing. with you rear ending a vehicle, could have knocked the alignment out just enuf to cause this uneven tire wear

after the collision we put a front end replacement on it and then took it in to the alignment shop.. the next week the wheel bearing went out and i replaced that along with the seals and stuff (drivers side) and i didnt go get another alignment...
after looking better at my tires i noticed the drivers side is wearing more to the inside but the passenger side is definately wearing to the outside. Im going to try the alignment again and hopefully this guy can look at my ball joints and tie rod ends etc.. and tell me if i need to replace anything.

Thanks guys.... (and i really didnt figure dry splines on the driveshaft would make it bump like that.. ill grease that bad boy too)
