In the past 2 weeks I have done the plugs on my 2.5l Ranger and my dads 4.0l Explorer. The plugs on the explorer werent bad at all. I just used a 6" extension for 4,5,6, a 3" extension for 1,2 and just the plug socket for #3. The wires on the driver side were a PITA though having to maneuver them around all the crap and brittle vacuum lines in the way. Just take your time and you should have the plugs done in 30 minutes tops and if you are doing the wires just have some patience with the driver side.

Uhm Ford built a high performance ignition system right from the factory. High performance systems only deliver additional performance under high RPM conditions where the stock coil may not be able to keep up. On an engine with a stock cam, you really can't rev high enough to outpace the stock coils.

So long as you use all Motorcraft ignition parts, you really cant do better on performance.

With all due respect, you are wrong!

Because we build our Screamin' Demon coils with specificaitons that allow you to open up your plug gaps to .065", you burn your fuel more completely from idle and throughout the midrange too.
