Anything else to do while I re-install the turbo?

I saw where a few guys have moved there MAP vac source for a quicker response, that makes sense and I'll do that. Is there anything while it is apart that I should move and relocate.

I'm doing a rebuild on the turbo, gutted ped, new orings, no EBV, WW, CCV, eliminating the Intake Heater, new boots and clamps, etc...

Lot of good stuff here, but I don't see a mention of bellowed up-pipes and you have to pull all that stuff off to be able to install those things.
They are worth every penny and every minute of the wait for them to arrive before putting it all back together again.
Completely and I mean hermetically sealed exhaust, ZERO exhaust drive pressure leaks with those bellowed pipes.
You can get them at International truck if you don't want to wait for an on-line order to arrive.
Just ask for the up-pipes for a 2000-2003 T444E engine.
You'll get a complete kit with new bolts, flanges, etc.

Dan my donuts wern't leaking and I didn't have to take them loose so Im leaving them stock for now, I am keeping them if or when my donuts fail I'm buying the up pipes.

I got the CCV made tonight, used a nice piece of 4" polished stainless steel tubing, new orings and some hose. I got all my turbo housings and pipes coated and the ped off.... The turbo parts will arrive tomorrow and I hope to have it all back together tomorrow night.

Oh well.
You have to take all of that stuff back off again to get at the up-pipes.

Good point, maybe at that point I'dd do more upgrades This site has been bad for my health, the case of PMS I have is not going away....

I decided I'm going to fab up a nice alum inlet pipe eventually, get rid of the rubber hoses and CCV delete. I see where they make one but I can make it cheaper. I make custom pipes for turbos and superchargers at my shop all the time.

Hmmmm, you are self employed, have a fab shop, and drive a 7.3.
Do I detect a bit of entrepreneurship? As in a possible kit?
You might have a few takers on this one.

Man, that loooks AWESOME!! Nice work!! What did you paint the turbo & spider with? I would LOVE to do that with mine!

And when you fab up your intake tubes, don't forget those of us with the ported housing (it's 4" the whole way instead of tapering down to 3" for the turbo inlet):

I used a VHT High Temp paint, good for 2000 degrees. It is silcon based and I've had decent success with it on headers and x-pipes from other cars I work on. I would have preferred to send it out to have it Ceramic coated but didn't have time, maybe when I upgrade I have a feeling this PMS isn't going away.

Man thanks for the comments on the engine bay, I actually think it's a lil dirty still wait till I'm done. Ill let you know about the pipes, I was actually going to try a 4" pipe on mine with a reducer coupling at the housing to see how it acts, I don't think it will cause too much turbulance entering the turbo to mess it up.

Okay, cool. Did you bead-blast the housings & spider first or something to clean them up?

Wire brush and a quick trip my glass bead cabinet. Here's the finished product, no leaks, runs great.....

Finished and ready to rock
