Question on lifts and ujoints

I have a 4 inch lift on my 75 f250 4x4,Im replacing all yokes with 1350,,,axle and t/c.With going 4inch will I be ok with running single ujoints?

I ran single joints on my old truck for years. I changed them during the rebuild and never after that until I sold it. 7 years or so on the same joints. May be still in the truck...

Just for a measure of longevity and a smoother driveshaft. I'd think about going to cv shafts, especially since it sounds like you'll be having new shafts made anyways. I know my driveshafts were shot, but the vibration difference was substantial.

ujoints

That would be the rear output shaft,and front output,small drive shaft,single joint?Ted what was your lift?

It was about 4" over stock, or, since mine was a 2wd conversion, about 7" taller than 2wd

your small drive shaft; are you using cv as well?

I dont have the truck anymore, but it only had 2 shafts. I used a married case for the conversion. Both the front and rear shafts were plain u joint style shafts. I did build a small carrier bearing spacer if I remember correctly

Yes,Ill be replacing drive shafts,probably safe bet to go with the cv,,,just not sure whether,Ill need a cv with short drive shaft on the divorce t/c.thanks folks

No your intermediate shaft can be a regular shaft. However I would definitely go the 1350 route.
