Front Directional Lens - clear or amber

I see both colors on these trucks. I have a 77 F100 2wd Explorer. Would the clear or amber directional lens's be correct for my truck.
Thanks,
Shane

This is my 77 Explorer, all original. Yours should be amber too!

PS: Got any pictures of yours?

Correct.

Running change from clear to amber in 1976 model year. After a certain serial number sequence...that I don't recall at the moment.

Im a little fresh out of tech school and i just got my DOT inspection license for diesels but i believe the new new DOT laws require amber lenses on all turn signals now but different states may have different laws on it.

I bought my truck w/ no lens and amber bulbs. I just didn't know which lens to look for. I will get photo's up soon. Been working on it pretty hard for a month and almost ready to get back on the road. Bought a parts truck, changed wire harness, new front brakes, replaced heater core, new mirrors and floor matt, restored air cleaner, restored the interior and last night Blasted and primed the wheels. Paint white tonight and mount the tires and almost ready to come off the stands again. Been a few more issues then I planned, as usual. Thanks for the help.

You are correct, but "IF" the vehicle was equiped from the factory prior to the enactment of that law, you vehicle would be exempt.

I know in my vehicle code book, at the bottom of the section it will tell you the last change, update, or enactment of that particular section, or sub-section.

My bumber is exactly like the photo above, but is missing the rubber side pieces. I have not found a source for them yet. What would the best way to find a pair be?

Actually my 77 F100 is exactly like the truck pictured. Same orange color, same stripes, same everything. The hood has been replaced so I didn't know about the hood stripes. Any chance you have a photo of the hood stripes. Right now, I am just getting everything working and looking as nice as I can, but will repaint before long. I think I like the stripes as they were. I had an orange 73, 302 3 speed in high school, which was my idea for buying this one. Almost the same.

I've got a set. Intrested? And mine were originally amber, I just changed them after they both cracked.

Yes. If you have amber lenses the bulbs are clear. With clear lenses you should have yellow-tinted bulbs.

Actually with clear lenses you should have industry number, 1157-A amber bulbs.

Amber Lenses require 1157 clear bulbs.
