Cool 05 F250 Diesel cranks but doesn't start, no glow light

so I start my truck this morning, go to the gym. start it again and return home. Take a shower and got to start, cranking sounds like normal.....no light off. Didn't pay attention to glow plug light as it was already warm. on subsequent starts, noticed the glow plug light doesn't come on at all. So I get a ride back to work, do a little research, borrow a code reader from a friend and return home to troubleshoot some more after work......I locked my doors with the keypad and had the keys inside so I don't have to carry them in uniform......now my doors won't unlock. Pressing 7/8+9/0 doesn't lock them, no sound.....then enter my code and on the last digit, the dome light inside comes on but appears weak through the tint. Could it be that battery? The engine cranking sounded great when I was trying to start earlier? Does the dual battery allo one side to work but electrically screw the rest? Please help! Diesel/Big truck rookie here and need my baby back to get to work tomorrow! Thank you in advance for any help!

I had similar on my 08..

worked fine.. next morning no crank.. dead battery..

keep extra keys in the house..

pop-a-lock service can open it manually in about 5 seconds.. (don't ask how I know)..

Sam. Thanks for the reply. That was sort of my issue. It's cranking and turning over just fine, just no vroom after that. Talked to my uncle(02 F250 Diesel), he had same problem, turning over, strong crank but no vroom........mechanic said check the battery......sure enough, one good, one dead......not sure why they have a "primary" and "alternate" when both are needed for starting...

update...... heard a clicking noise coming from behind the fuse panel under the steering wheel. lay down to investigate.....a small black box hooked to the brake pedal......I move it around and clicking stops(Key is in my pocket mind you).....not sure what this is but it may have led to the dead battery issue......currently charging the driver battery tonight and will try to crank it in the a.m......I will keep you posted.

another issue is I bought it used and it has a edge juice w/platinum chip controller and a scosche remote start and alarm....hopefully not someone's wiring falling apart and causing serious headaches!

update #2........ charging driver battery all night (7 hours), checked it at 5 a..m. and was up to 3 of 5 lights on the charger. This is charging at 12 amps for a "quick" charge. Guess I will head to work and check it later on today. I can already smell new batteries in my near future as seems the case with others on here. 2 new batteries replaced at the same time. The clicking relay has subsided but it will resurface I am sure if I don't get it fixed.......more to follow.

charged battery overnight.....truck, glow plug light, relay, etc working perfectly now. Driver side battery was the fault. Waiting to check the alternator in a day or so to make sure its delivering enough juice. My short drive to work may have been the culprit.
