I have an 06 F-350 XLT with the 6.0. Just changed both fuel filters. Added an injection cleaner to the fuel. Transmission just replaced. Truck runs great until it is under a load. On a level surface it is fine but when you start to go up a hill (not towing) around 60 to 65 MPH the engine starts to chug. Towing it starts chugging around 50 to 52 MPH and only when going up a hill. when you level out it runs fine. Anyone have any suggestions?
my 03 had similar problems as yours and i had it scanned and came back as egr problems. i popped it out and cleaned it and it ran great again. im sure my egr valve is on its way out but i just need for it to work till i can do my delete kit
changed EGR out. It was not all that bad not like it was a year ago. Took out for a test drive thought I had it licked but it came back. Only this time it is between 65 and 70 without towing and the chug is much worse. Feels like the engine is going to let go. I was just waiting to hear a bang but never did. Guess I will try that hot shot stuff. I do have the edge juice controler maybe I will disconnect that and see what happens. The chug does happen in all modes except race - never use that no need. Open to any other sugestions.
take your edge off. i was towing in friends truck that had edge, got to 60 and truck would stumble and almost quit, like i was towing with a truck with a really bad timing issue.. took it off on the side of the interstate and ran fine ever since, turns out chip went bad. and that was his second new chip that it had happened on.
Firend has a program on his laptop and is going to hook it up to the truck this weekend and check codes etc and see what is says when the truck does it.
