How to change/fill my zf5 trans

Ive noticved that my trans makes some noise when driving, and I want to change the fluid in it (its probably never been changed in 147k miles). I wanted to know :

1. How to drain and fill the trans

2. what fluid do you guys recommend?

Here's How:
1) Drain fluid by pulling the drain plug (the lowest plug)
2) When it is done draining, replace the drain plug and remove the fill plug (the higher plug), And use a hand pump or suction gun to put the oil in. Pump oil in until it starts to trickle out of the Fill hole.
3) Replace the fill plug.

As for fluid, Ford Specifies Mercon ATF for the ZF. I use Chevron MD3 in everything I have that uses ATF.

Make sure you can get the fill plug loose before pulling the drain plug. Old fluid is better than no fluid
