What is this connector for?
Was wiring up some fog lights and found a loose connector that appeared to be jumped with jumper wire by the PO. What does this plug into. What's it for. I don't no which way this jumper wire goes in and I don't want to short anything out.
The female slot closest to the male pin is hot with Ignition on. The other two female terminals go off thru the dash toward ignition switch, radio etc. somewhere. Not sure where the male terminal goes to. Can anybody look under there dash and see. Thanks.

Looks to me like connector for neutral safety switch. Will the truck start without the jumper?

If a newer steering column has been swapped by a PO, does the pre-'78 C-6 support a transmission mounted neutral switch? Thanks for the photos showing two (?) types of the neutral switch and their locations. Why is starts in gear, and no backup lights, are two things (maybe related) on my list of things to figure out on my new '77. I've already posted some of the wiring issues that I've fixed and will be looking for a similar switch when my truck gets back into the garage (it's in a welder's shop undergoing a power steering conversion).

1978/79 F100/350: NSS located on transmission. C6 uses a different NSS (D8TZ-7A247-A / Motorcraft SW-1489) than C4 (D8TZ-7A247-B / Motorcraft SW-1491).
