1978 and 1984 F250 rear axle swap

Hello-

I have a '78 F250 that has a bad rear end. I have a '84 F250 parts truck that I want to pull the axle from and put in my '78.

Will it fit or are the spring/shock mounts different? Anyone done this swap before? The '78 is a Dana 61 and the '84 is a Dana 60.

Are the gear ratio's the same or is it a 2wd truck? Go out and measure the spring perch width and make sure the shocks mount the same way. I have a feeling that it will bolt right in.
