07 edge - a few issues, anyone else?
We are considering buying an 07 edge sel plus but there are a few issues that I would like to know if anyone else has had to deal with. We have been driving it for a few days and some of these issues have come up.
The first is the vista sun roof, when retracting it I need to push on it as the button is being pushed to close it. When we first test drove it, it worked a few days ago. Is it maybe the motor or track adjustment?
The passenger side rear seat belt hangs up when we try to pull it out. Need to jig it a lot to get it to release.
The gas cap light came on a couple days ago, possibly bad cap?
Check engine light came on yesterday, I am hopefully going to have someone scan it to see what it is.
If anyone else has had these problems and got them figured out, I would appreciate hearing about them or others I haven't listed. Thank you.

Primetime1, thanks for the reply. We decided not to do the deal, they were backing out of somethings they said they would do and the engine code read coolant temp sensor and speed sensor. The computer was telling the scanner it was doing 60 mph at 2500rpm when it was really sitting there in the yard idling. I asked if he could clear them but everytime he tried they would come right back, or he said he couldn't, so he thought it might be a pretty serious problem or maybe the newer computers need to be flashed to get rid of them.
The only warranty is the dealers 30 day 50/50 powertrain one. We would of bought the aftermarket one but would not be able to use it until after 30 days and there is not guarantee that they would of covered any of it.
My wife is looking for a VW passat TDI wagon now, which I am fine with as long as it is a TDI. Hard to pass up 45-50 mpg rig.

FYI- the VW Passat has many many issues- not so much with the engine, but the electrical systems! Also the fuel tank is plastic, is not shielded against road debries and there are many instances where tank puncture has occurred. VW has no tank repair procedure- just replace at owners expense.

VWs are expensive to maintain. The brakes are spendy, the shocks are spendy, and it is true, they have electrical issues. I sell a lot of parts for VWs and Audis and am not impressed. They are hard to work on when something goes wrong.
I would still consider the Edge, just get another one. I am seeing a ton of these in my area.

Can't argue with that. We use to own an 01 audi a4. It was at the mechanics 1/3 of the time. The only good thing I have to say about it is that it rode and handled nice.
I do think the edge is very comfortable to ride in and I do see a lot of them around.
But it is hard to look away from the tdi when people get 45-50 mpg and don't need a battery half the time to do it. She also likes the older expeditions so the thought was to get both. Just got to keep looking.
