I was at the dunes in Coos Bay 2 weeks ago and I'm kinda a numbers and stats guy. Sitting at the trailer I started counting. I noticed for every 1 Chevy truck there were about 4 Fords, the majority of which were SD's or HD's. I'm always impressed when I see the blue oval being represented like that as most of my friends are toyota or chevy fans...
Also, while typing this I saw this post and had to share.
Down here is SoCal, the mall crawlers are in all flavors (as you can imagine). But for work trucks, they are mostly Ford, some Chevy and a few Dodges thrown in for good measure. Most everybody has toys off-pavement, but as far as us that take our rigs in the dirt (or sand or mud or...) then you mostly see smaller vehicles (mostly Jeeps). You see some 1/2 tons running around (F-150s of course) but very few above that. I think in the last 4 years I've seen 2 other SDs off-roading, which is why I always get an awkward stare when I'm on the trails with my rig since it's just a little bigger than the Jeeps you normally see. Most of the big trucks are used to drag the toy hauler out for the weekend, and those are usually Fords.
on my drive to/from work im always looking at teh traffic around me and its easily 4:1 Ford trucks..
wether they be work trucks or personal use...
in fact everyday going to work i pass a Black F350 CC lifted with black rims, going the other way into town, basicly the evil brother to my White angel..
we always seem to catch eyes as we pass on the road...its a brotherhood thing..
id say its a pretty even mix between fords and chevys around here. although most tow rigs are fords here. id say 9 out of 10 are fords. then all contractor box trucks are fords.
