Just my humble and sorry-assed opinion.

YMMV?

Alvin,

You said what I was thinking, but in a lot less words--I admire that.

Some may score you less charitably on a perceived lack of...diplomacy, shall we say?

But again, there's value in being concise--I could learn from you, Dude! LOL.

And the OP clearly has mad skills (since he can work on automatics--yikes!)--he could do the swap, so I'm sure he'll understand we meant well.

It would seem like overkill to have that trans. in a 2WD SWB F150. I would
think about a M5OD, but Ive heard they dont like tourqe, and my 351 puts
out somewhere around 400ft.lbs.
My plan is to put a ZF in a '91 Bronco.
I'm dumber than you thought, huh? ;)

The most important part, of course, is getting rid of the E4OD.
The second important part is getting a wide ratio transmission so
I can skip first gear like I do in my '75 F150 with a 360FE + T18. :)
And third want an overdrive, because I got spoiled by that part
of the E4OD in my '91 F150. LOL :)

An F250 parts truck is the cheapest way to go for me, because
of all the other crazy stuff that goes with a swap like that.

The Mazda seems to be strong enough, but it's a "car like" close
ratio transmission and so I'm not interested in those at all. With
your hopped-up engine you might be better off with the Mazda? :)

On another website forum there's a transmission rebuilder that
prefers the close ratio Mazda to the wide ratio ZF for a few
(several?) reasons. PM me if you want to know where he hangs
out?

I think Id rather see the transmission bounce off some rocks on its way down a bluff and eventually splash into Skiatook lake. BTW I have absolutely no skill or experience with auto's, so thats probobly why Im in this predicament

I adjusted the band, checked the modulator(good), and tightened up the lines again. I took it for a drive, and it still wont shift from first to second. I can get it to shift through the gears manually, but only under low load. It will start slipping if I get on it at all. I think I got bent over on this one. Thanks for the help.

Well I went with an AOD. I had a local trans. shop rebuild one with HD componets, and a B&M transpak. I got the trans in, and bolted up. Now, I just need to find a driveshaft, and make some new lines. It seemed like everything was easier installing the AOD over the C6. Maybe It was because I took my time, but it was easy. Cant wait to get it back in action. Thanks for the help.
