This hit a little bit too close for comfort today, just about 1 1/2-2 miles away from where i am right now. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the killed and injured

Man, stay SAFE over there!! I was in Iraq last summer and had to deal with the clowns lobbing their chit into the base, but I don't think there were any car bombs. I may be doing a trip to Kandahar one of these days, too. We'll see. I'm an E7 in the Air Force -- I work on radio equipment. When I was in Iraq, I maintained the Giant Voice, AFN TV & Radio transmitters, paging system for the EMEDS, and the base LMRs & repeater system.
That new directive about limiting air strikes and limiting firing into "civilian" compounds is going to do more harm than good. It sounds like they are trying to repeat the mistakes they made in Viet Nam....stay safe over there despite these clowns in Washington.

Joe i am in the Air Force too. Vehicle maintenance is what i do. currently deployed with Army Special Forces working on their trucks and ATVs. this has been a very interesting deployment, getting to see what happens elsewhere besides the normal AF deployments. Even tho we are deployed and living on an Army Camp, the damn Air Force still tries to stick their nose in our business. lol, stupid stuff too.
Kandahar is really building up right now, they flooding the troops in here.

They are no longer "civilians" if they are providing cover to the enemy.. they become the enemy.. Why in the hell is that so hard for the damn politicians to see..

But some civilians are being used as human shields against their will. it does become a tough situation.
You can always use jumper cables to figure out whose who....Sorry.. I am not there.. I have no right to speak.. As much as I appreciate that we are there to protect.. I still have ill feeling for the way things appear to be handled from those sitting at their desk..
