Where to start with gauges

I'm sure there have been a million threads asking this very same thing, but I'm just wondering where to start when it comes to gauges. Whats the best brand? Which gauges do I need (boost, pyro, etc.)? Wheres the best place to buy them online? Pretty much the basics. I'm 16 and new to diesel so I'm still trying to figure everything out. Thanks.

I prefer my DiPricols since they match my stock cluster perfectly. They're a tad more expensive, but probably the smoothest, best looking gauges out there.

I got my Isspros EV series gauges from Dieselmanor, everything came in the box, everything!! Even had extra parts and the directions are great. I got pyro-boost and trans in the pillar. You could also call Clay at Riffraff performance, he could set you up also..

Most of us run either Autometer, ISSPRO or DiProcal like I got with my truck, but yeah, you want boost, pyro, and tranny temp. THEN you can safely add power. Welcome to FTE- stick around long enough you'll be selling your house for mods LOL....

Hey Joe which model of DiProcals d oyou have? I gotta replace mine, well at least the pyro (dead termit inside playing havoc on needle) and the tranny sensor took a dump so I'd need at least a sensor if not the gauge too.... I can't remeber which ones I got. The wife told me they're black .... so I have to wait till I get home to order new ones

BTW- I'm gonna get mine from Dieselmanor.com- 'cause they offer a military discount!

Welcome to FTE Best brand is really up to preference, but I prefer the Isspro since the match the stock dash closer than any and are made in Portland, OR rather than India like many. When you buy gauges you need to think where you will be going with them so you don't wish you had started differently. Your best bet is take a look at Autometer and Isspro and see what you like better. Let me know if I can help or get you some pricing.

Another vote for Isspro.
My reason is they have that nice color banding green, yellow and red zones.
Very easy to read while underway out of the corner of your eye.
