I have a C6 that was rebuilt many years ago by Aamco and has had a shift kit installed. The trans shifts solidly, but too early into second. The fluid is in good shape and it has been serviced regularly. I am not the original owner and the trans has had this problem ever since I bought it. Is there any way to make it shift later? The trans is in a 79 F150 4X4 with 400.
One thing you can try is turning "IN"(clockwise) the screw in the Vacuumn Hose `port` of the Vacuumn Modulator.
Go IN mabe 2 turns and give it a full throtle run to test the MAX shift point. Your trans kickdown linkage needs to be working (mine is anyway).
Iam not sure how it will be with your shift kit OK.
adjust as needed.
