I'm fixing up a D60 to swap in and it needs a new pinion bearing due to the spider gears blowing up. Would it be better to do the bearing replacement my self Or bring the axle to a shop Or the dealer?

I found this website about a total overhaul, but other than checking the gear pattern after I put the new bearings on the pinion, I should just be able to put all the shims back in the same place and be OK, Right?
