What if I need a better rear end????

How much power can a stock superduty handle?

Can the gears be upgraded for handling insane power?

If not, what other type of axle will fit and still maintain the same ratio??

I could live with the stock front dana60, and not driving insane in 4x4, but the rear end is gonna get severely abused.....

(This is in reference to dropping a 1000HP 466DT into a superduty, which the planning has been coming along nicely....)

I don't have your answer but here is a bump to stay at the top. Have not seen you around much lately.

I haven't heard anyone having issues with the actual gears faling apart or something like that. The diff is pretty weak and just wears out turning itself into a peg leg diff. But that's about it from what I've seen.

Yeah, but I wonder how they'd hold up with a 1000hp 2000tq engine in the thing...

I mean, its not going to be a tractor puller, but its gonna have to take some good abuse....

It'll hold up pretty well I would think. The 466 is not that much bigger than a 444. We have some pretty good hp 444's here and a lot of them still have a stock rear end. There are quite a few of 1000lb tq or near that 7.3's roaming around.

Plus, I might weld up the rear, sacrificing nice cornering, but having insane smokeshow capabilities....
