When you do the swap, you may have some fit-up issues. The turn light assemblies and their recesses in the gravel pan are different 55 to 56. You'll need to keep the 56 turn lights and try to fit them to the 55 grill bottom. The person who swaps your 56 grill into their 55 will need the 56 air dams also, as they have dimples for the recessed headlight.

Just a thought...
It is a good thought but the following applies:
1. The lower grille assy is the same 53-56.
2. Parking lights 55 & 56 are the same. (but not 54 or 53)
3. Air dams will work for the 56 as they obviously have because he has a 56 grille on a slant cab, but the drilled holes are different. The grille brace is different, but since they have a 56 grille in, either they modified it, or used a '56 grille brace.
So, without knowing very much about what is installed on the front end, the easiest way to proceed is to find a '55 grille so that there are no parking light issues, and get a 55 grille brace as well. The air dams will be ok. If you were to use a '53 or '54 grille, the parking lights would also have to be procured, as well as the grille brace. The headlight buckets are the same, but the headlilght rims are different, so the '56 headlight rims should go with the '56 grille, and you need 53-55 headlight rims for the earlier grille.
I think you will find what you are lookig for because '56s are three times more popular than slant cabs and that is a great looking '56 grille.......

Huh? I am pretty sure that the 56 parking light frames are unique to the 56.
You need the headlight buckets for the 55 as well. Your 56 models are different. I wonder if you might try an experiment before you get rid of your 56 grill. Why not paint it? Most people like the 56 over the 53-55 models. Maybe you're needing a change. Try painting it to match the truck. Or, paint it white like it prob was before it got chromed. Good luck, Jag

I used the 56 buckets in my 55 grill without problem.. the other way takes a little trimming of the bucket edge..(1/8 in)
