I need one too. I'm going to scour some junkyards and see if I can get lucky. When I checked with Ford a few years back, I think it was around $100. Whatever it was, it was outrageous.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. Lokar makes one that will work. You can get it from Summit and it is probably cheaper than Ford, (but not a whole lot).
I think they are around $60.

1981/89 F150/350 and Bronco 351W / 1980/89 Econoline 351W: There are three different tubes for the trucks, three different tubes for Econolines.
Since the engine has been swapped, I have no idea which one you need, because...
One tube was used 1980/87, another for 1988, still another for 1988/89. The parts catalog doesn't say which threads on.
Look on the dipstick itself for an ID number, that...when decoded, will lead to the correct dipstick tube.
There is NO way, NONE that whatever tube you need, costs 100 bucks!
Most dealers JACK UP the MSRP = Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. Some add between 10-50%, some double the MSRP, some double the MSRP and add %%%!!
FYI: FTE has Ford Dealer Parts Department sponsors that give members discounts off the actual MSRP.
Here's one example, this is FYI only, I do not know if it's correct...or not =
E1TZ6754B .. Dipstick Tube / Fits: ALL 1981/87 F150/350 & Bronco 351W 2V or 4V.
MSRP: $43.78 // FTE sponsor y2kfordparts.com price: $31.52.
Look on this page among the sponsors for the link to: Y2K FORD DISCOUNT PARTS
Y2K is: Ed Olson, parts manager of MILLENNIUM FORD in Seattle WA.

There is no such thing as a threaded dipstick, you want a threaded dipstick TUBE. The tube is sold separate from the dipstick.

As you correctly point out, the dipstick is sold seperately, and they were just as damn proud of it. Combine the price and you're getting close to that $100. The Lokar comes with both, a flexible tube and a billet **** dipstick bling bling.
As far as I know, neither one of has either part. At least I don't, and I don't see how he can with no tube. We aren't trying to replace a damaged part, we are trying to procure missing parts. You can't get a number off something you don't have.
If I could get both for $32. that would be a deal.

Underestimate? Not I.
How do you think I knew what some of these crooked dealers charge?
Mebbe the fact that I was a Ford partsman for 35 years had something to do with it.
The places I worked here in LA LA Land went by the book, but I've seen and heard plenty of horror stories, some right here.
One member of FTE posted that he needed a 351W valve cover and said the dealer quoted him THREE HUNDRED and FIFTY DOLLARS!
Wanted to know if that was the real price.
I looked the puppy up, the MSRP was $90.00 (IMO, too much even at that price), his FTE discount brought the price down to about $75.00.
LOL...he went to a boneyard, got one for 20 bucks.
