I am curious if all 6.4s have the 5yr/100,000mi warranty on the engine. I have an early job 1 and the only warranty noted on the window sticker is 3yr/36000mi.

 

the PSD is covered under a separate warranty, I would think that would be in the supplement provided with your owners manual. Don't have mine in front of me right now to know for sure.

The engine only is warranted for 5yr/100,000. It's in your diesel owner's supplement manual. I think it's also explained in the DVD that came with our trucks.

I purchased the Diesel Care Plus extended warranty from my Ford dealer which gives me 200,000 miles of coverage on the drivetrain. I joke with my service advisor that I'm going to do my best to blow it up when I get to 180,000 miles!

 

In my supplement warranty manual it says "powertrain warranty" and covers engine, tranny and front and rear diffs for 5 years/100,000 miles. I know this to be true because I just had clutch packs replaced in my rear diff under warranty and my odometer is over 36000 miles. My truck is a job 1 also...

 

All Fords (all cars and trucks) come with a 3/36K bumper to bumper PLUS a 5/60K powertrain warranty. According to my 2008 warranty guide (page 8-10) only the diesel engine is covered by the 5/100K warranty.

Under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, the following components are covered against defects in factory supplied materials or workmanship for 5 years or 160,000 km(100,000 miles) from original warranty start date.

Transmission-All internal parts, clutch cover, seals and gaskets, torque converter, transfer case(including internal parts), transmission case, transmission mounts.

Four-Wheel Drive-......

Rear-Wheel Drive-......

Thats what it says in my book, I wonder if there is a difference between warranty between trucks sold in the states and in Canada.

 

Clear as mud. Now I have to go dig my book out.

All I know, is I am bumper to bumper for 3/36....beyond that, I have no clue.

 

actually reading a similar thread on a different form, it seems us canadians get a better warranty north of the border. I wonder if it is because we pay for more them?
