XL to XLT

Found a F350 XL that has the two things I'm looking for at a low price (6 spd and 4X4). Are XL versions wired from the factor to easily upgrade to the XLT appointments...i.e. can I get a steering wheel pad with cruise, etc and drop it in....same for upgrading to electric windows and door lock?

Thanks

My 2001 F250 XL came with cruise and air, but was otherwise plain jane. When I upgraded it to power windows and locks, I found that it had the power feed to behind the dash for the locks, but was missing many of the items necessary for the power windows (including that the dash fuse box did not have the internal circuits for the delay function) and I had to work around this by wiring the windows to work off a new relay using a tap into the windshield wiper circuit to make the relay hot in RUN and ON.

The short answer is that every truck is different, and you will be missing a lot of wiring and other items necessary to add the XLT features. Unless you want to make this a serious hobby, it is probably not practical to upgrade.
