Oh it didnt take very long. Bondo sets up really quickly so I didnt have to wait long to sand between layers. I think i did it all in a day. A weekend at the most. I let the color coat dry for a really long time, like a week, just because I had the time not because I thought it particularly needed to wait that long.

Ha, funny thing is the weather folks actually got the weather right the past 3 days!

Mon- 94 degree heat index 104
tues- 97 heat index 109
wed- 96 heat index 107

Mix those days in with scattered HEAVY storms. And you got a big flustercuck, that hot, humid, sticky, and miserble to work in. Just ask me i've been out chain sawing/mowing/weed eating/replacing pump motors and other stuff in the crap. Every day i come home my whole bodys soaked in sweat. Doesn't help the fact i have to wear boots jeans gloves and a hat for my job. Okay done with the rambling sorry.

I suppose it's no help to know that I played hooky to go to the ball game in a lovely sunny 72 degrees today

Seriously though, I feel for you. There's nothing worse than having to be all covered up when it's a boiler out.

I wish I had found this post about 3 hours ago. I just bondo'd the hell out of mine, but put the backer on the backside of the dash and just put the bondo right over it from the top side. The mesh was no longer there in my dash, so I hope it holds up, but I do like the idea of a tray of some sort dropped in the hole. if it turns out looking like hell, I will probably do the tray idea.

I still have an AM radio and I want to keep my speaker in the dash. Has anyone installed a grill over the speaker that will hide the detoriating condition of the perforated speaker area? When the snow lets up I will try to find a grill at the local auto shop. If it works out I will post it.

Brownie, you can buy aftermarket covers for these pads. They will have holes in it for the speaker so you are still able to keep it there.

So how has it held up in the sun over 3 or so years?
