Replacing intake manifold on a 5.4
Hello,
I am going to be replacing the intake manifold on my 2000 Superduty with the 5.4L engine, due to a water leak where the intake sandwiches with the plastic on the passenger side.
Ordered the replacement intake manifold tonight.
Any tips or tricks for this job. Fuel rail, etc. Does a person need to change the o-rings on the injectors? Also need the torque specs.
Thanks

update please
So how'd it go? I have my throttle body off to clean. I was thinking abt taking the intake off and clean it also. Looks like alot of work. Read a horror story abt breaking off bolts. Doesn't look that diry...just the bottom of the throttle body. I have a 05 150. Been reading abt dirty EGR passages. Were yours dirty? My concern was a possibly over oiled K&N air filter. Cleanig MAF sensor today. Any input would be grealty appreciated

I had a Ford mechanic, (who works at home too) change it out for me. I'm from the old school on Fords, 351M, 400, 460's etc, these new motors intimidate me.
My 2000 Superduty did not have the EGR system on it.
The plastic intake had a chunk cracked out on the inside of the water jacket, where it sandwiched to the aluminum crossover. The O-ring seal was dislodged, causing the leak.
I put new coil packs, the intake and new spark plugs all at one time, healed up many issues. It was running like crap, bucking and jerking on the road. I still have a "too fast of an idle" problem though.
I dont think I helped you much.
Good luck with yours.
