01 F250 SD wheel bearing hubs

I was wandering if anyone has pulled the 4X4 hubs apart and replaced the bearings (rebuilding) themselves as compared to just replacing the hubs?

I was told they were an entire unit in my 2000 f250 and the only option was to replace the entire $400 unit. I was told this was the case for all models after 1999. Hope that helps.

I don't think you can do it but there are aftermarket ones on Ebay for a lot less.

As far as I know I never heard of anyone rebuilding the wheel hubs.

I actual bought two new Ford hubs on Ebay for $99 a peice from a private seller. One of my better finds.

Wow. I REALLY wish I would have joined this forum sooner. I wouldn't have had time to do it myself, but I could of at least brought the part to the guys and I would have saved some serious money.
