Hi A guy down the street here in California has a 1988 F-250 3/4 ton 4x4 with a fuel injected 460 motor, manual 4x4 lever and 5 speed manual. It needs a cat and a muffler no big. Unfortunate the back fees are a grand. The truck is bone stock with 100,000 miles he offered it to me for 1,000.
I also own a 1990 F-150 with a 302 this motor is incredibly strong in the truck.
Question is how hard would it be to transplant the 302 motor in the truck with the 460?
Would I have to change wiring harness or just the computer?
I thinks the bell housing is separate from the tranny so I would have to acquire that. Back fees I can get waived.
What about motor mounts?
Any idea what the axle ratio would be?
This is a really clean truck with a bed that has storage bins.
Any insight to this would be appreciated.
