good price for turbo??

good price for turbo??

hey guys just got a quick question i have a chance to buy a new stock turbo (7.3) from a guy that works at the ford dealership it came on a new motor that they installed and apperently the turbo wasnt suppose to be included so he kept it and he told me $400 and its mine is this a good price? also will i beable to build it to make more boost and hold up better for a decent price?

Yeah, that's a good price if it's brand new for sure! You can tighten up the wastegate rod to help keep that wastegate closed. You're maxing it out around 25psi anyway -- why did you buy this one? Is yours toast? Are you running the DP now?

If the motor came thru the Ford dealership and your buddy got it and is selling it that would be stealing if you asked me, don't know if I would want to be involved in that, my .2 cents..Now, if the dealership knows he's looking for a buyer for them, then thats another story.

I was thinking that too, Mike. Sounds a little dodgy from the outside looking in, doesn't it?

yeah im running the dp right now i havent bought the turbo yet he just offered it to me i dont know what the deal is between him the turbo and ford he just told me it wasnt suppose to come on the motor and he is the head guy in the service dept...my turbo is a little noisey kinda like a ringing/whistle some sometimes even at idle

my stock on from ford was 950$ after the core amount was taken off.

Just a tad LOL, but that is a great price. I can hook him up with a 38R for just a bit more if he was interested.
