Ok so I picked up a zf6 yesterday for 800 with the transfer case out of an 02 f250. I ma going to put it into my 97 f150 with a 4.6 I will be putting a 5.4 in it once I get it built. I wa wondering what all i would need to get this in and running. I haven't messed around with the zf much yet. Any help would be appreciated greatly!! Thank you in advance.

 

I think you'll need an adapter to fit that trans to the mod motors. I think the 6.0 and later engines used the same pattern as the mod motors, but the 7.3 was it's own beast.

 

Nope I have it off of a 6.8. The 6.8 has the same bellhousing bolt pattern. I made sure of that much first. So far it is looking pretty straight forward. Just having to figure out my drive shafts and linkage between the tranny and transfer case. Pretty sure I acan use the same clutch and all but looking into that right now.
