MBRP Turbo Back Can you leave CAT in....?
I just ordered a Turbo Back SS exhaust for my Excursion. The exhaust guy said you don't use the cat with the turbo back system. Isn't that a personal preference..? Can you use it if you want to use it? I have heard about drone and don't want to have to deal with that so just in case, I want to be able to mount it in there.

I think what he meant (who knows?) is that the MBRP system doesn't come with the cat. You will use yours when you put on the exhaust system, otherwise there will be a huge gap between the down pipe from the turbo and the short pipe that goes to the muffler.
Having said that, I purchased the cat delete pipe and the muff delete pipe separately. I haven't used them yet, but will be using/testing both on trips this summer.
Good luck with the system Zmock.

cut the studs on the cat a little shorter to make things easier to swap..after a few tries, you'll be able to change it out in about a 1/2 hour..

I'm on the road and don't have it with me, but all I did was call MBRP and order both delete pipes (cat & muff) in SS 304 to match my system. I think all they had in the catalog was the SS 409. Nice people, very helpful. And the pipes came show polished.
They look very nice on my workbench...

the turbo back "off road" systems utilize a single piece of pipe from the downpipe to the muffler..that's probably what you've seen..
